Name: Jacob ‘Jake’ Redgrave
Occupation: Former US Army officer
Jacob ‘Jake’ Redgrave was born on July 25th 1978 at 3:14pm in the afternoon. He was one of a pair of identical twins, with his younger brother Ethan following at 3:18pm, making Jake the elder of the twins by just four minutes. The two were the third and fourth children in an eventual brood of six. While he was close to his twin Ethan, the two differed during their childhoods with respect to their personalities. Ethan was a more sensitive and emotionally aware person who preferred literature and writing whereas Jacob was the popular, emotionally invulnerable jock. Once they graduated, thanks to their parents’ farm expanding and allowing some financial support for college, Jacob was able to go to college on a football scholarship to study History while Ethan went to train as a teacher, marking the first time the twins were separated since birth.
Jake enjoyed college, especially the social side and although he was always an academic slacker, he was interested in some parts of his History degree. Upon graduating, Jake decided to enlist as an officer cadet in the Army after being inspired by his study of American military history and by the military recruiters who were looking for patriotic, willing young men to join up. After officer training, Jake served for two years and was promoted to First Lieutenant shortly before the 9/11 attacks and the subsequent invasion of Afghanistan. Jake was deployed and fought two tours before also fighting in Iraq when the US invaded that nation as well.
As an experienced combat officer, Jake was then promoted to Captain and was responsible for leading squads of men into battle and served a further two tours in Iraq. While many considered Jake insane for doing five tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, he found he could not ignore his ingrained sense of duty until he eventually tired of war after the loss of his men and the associated horrors. After the US withdrew from Iraq, Jake resigned his commission and returned to civilian life.
During his time in the Army, he’d drifted from his family and his twin who by now had become a famous author. Jake returned to Washington D.C. and became a bodyguard for the rich and powerful, serving several clients where he continues to work until the present day.
I’ve never been to Thailand.
You really should, it’s amazing
You’re modest about everything, though. Your looks, your writing.. you should try being more of an asshole.
Mm, you’d be surprised. Sounds good, I’ll see you soon.
Maybe if I was more fame hungry, I try to avoid the limelight plus I’ve never really been one to brag.
Psh, I’d take you down in a fight. See you soon
Well, from what I hear, you’re getting shining reviews everywhere else.
Do that and I’ll kick your ass.. where do you want me to meet you?
That’s true, trying to be modest about it but it’s an ego boost I admit
Pfft, you couldn’t kick my ass. Um, come to my place and we’ll head off from there?
Damn, how’d you guess?
Alrighty then. I need to thoroughly shake myself before I attempt to get ready.
I recommend a coffee, or I’d be willing to throw a bucket of water over you
